Dark Souls – The Board Game is being made by Steamforged Games, and is currently on Kickstarter. It’s 1 – 4 player game that focuses on combat and exploration.  Players can choose characters from a number of  classes and set out to  explore the dangerous locations filled with the monsters, treasures, and deadly boss fights from the Dark Souls universe. The project was easily funded in the first hour and a load of stretch goals have already been reached. Check out the Kickstarter trailer video below:

Gameplay

The game offers  Solo or Co-op modes with multiple difficulty modes catering both to newcomers and the hardcore gamer. Each game starts with a quick setup fro where the players will have to and explore the world. There is no set scenarios ensuring each adventure is unique. The game uses a clever stamina mechanic where you will have to trade of damage against your stamina. Each monster has a certain attack pattern and figuring this out is crucial to winning a combat. Further more you are able to loot new weapons, armor and items as you progress.
