Warhammer 40K Regicide is the new turn based strategy game from Hammerfall Publishing. The game draws heavily from Battle Chess, but also ads a new game mode called Regicide. The game is set in the Segmentum Obscurus, an imperial world lay to waste by the green skins. Regicide aims to blend board game style strategy with dynamic abilities. It will include a single player Blood Angels campaign and multi-platform multiplayer games. Check out the teaser below.

Game Modes

Regicide will offer two game modes:

Classic

This mode brings Warhammer 40K to life with traditional chess rules. Much like battle chess there are brutal killing moves and finishing animations for you troops. Total multi-platform multiplayer will be supported for this game mode.

Regicide

This mode brings two phases of combat in which you can command your troops and adds tactical abilities and psychic powers with which to annihilate all that would stand against you. The Space Marine Blood Angels campaign will follow this mode, and allows you to unlock new challenges, powers and elite units.

The game is currently on Steam in Early Access and is enjoying a lot of positive reviews. It is very modestly priced at $13.99 and for that price I don’t think you can go wrong with this one. For now it will only be Orks against Space Marines, but if the game proves successful more races will be added. If you are a fan of Warhammer 40K and PC games then you should definitely check this one out.
